The TC Foundation (formerly called the Textile Conservation Foundation) main purpose is to support conservation, education and research in textile and related specialisms and it does this primarily by supporting the textile conservation education, in the form of the MPhil Textile Conservation, and research at the Kelvin Centre for Conservation & Cultural Heritage Research which is part of the University of Glasgow. The TC Foundation also supported the development of the MPhil Book and Archival Materials Conservation, which began in September 2025, and is also fundraising for bursaries to support students on that programme.

The TC Foundation worked with the University of Glasgow to establish the Centre, which was opened by HRH The Princess Royal in 2011; it is the successor to the Textile Conservation Centre (TCC). You can find out more about the history of the Foundation here and about the TCC here. Here is some information about recent changes to the TC Foundation’s governance and charitable objects.
